Classes
Knitorious shop is a lot of things - a great place to buy quality yarn and knitting products, a nice place to come and visit with friends and fellow knitters, a source of advice on those little problem areas on your latest project. The one thing we are most proud of at Knitorious, though, is our classes. Our instructors are dedicated to providing you the confidence you need to accomplish any project you have decided to undertake.
There are classes for beginners, classes for accomplished knitters who want the challenge of doing something out of the ordinary, such as felting or socks. Plus, Knitorious will customize classes for any group that has specific needs. Additionally, Knitorious offers private lessons for any technique or project you want to undertake.
Knitorious classes are uniquely focused on your needs. Do you have a group of friends that are interested in learning to knit and you would like to all learn together? Knitorous will book classes for your group. Would you like to make knitting an experience you share with your children? Schedule a class with your children and you can all learn together. Individual Lessons

Description:  
Schedule a private lesson or class with one of our qualified knitting and crochet instructors today! Our instructors teach Beginning and Intermediate Knitting, Beginning and Intermediate Crochet, Beginning Sock Knitting, Finishing Techniques, Entrelac, Lace, 2 socks on 2 needles, Magic Loop Knitting, Finishing Techniques and more! You can also hire an instructor in 1 hour increments for extensive help with your current projects or before embarking on a new challenging project.

Beginning Knitting
Time: Three two-hour classes

Description:  
Learn to knit under the guidance of a qualified knitting instructor. Learn basic methods of casting on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing and binding off.

Intermediate Beginners
Time: Three two-hour classes
Tuition: $60
Class Seating: 4-8 students

In this class you build on the foundation of knit and purl and learn the basics needed to execute simple patterns successfully:
How to read a pattern
How to use a gauge in a project
Methods for casting on stitches
Methods for binding off stitches
Methods of increasing and decreasing
Basic seaming
Prerequisites:  
Know how to knit, purl (and recognize the difference), garter stitch, stockinette stitch.
Materials:  
Light colored, smooth yarn (for practice swatches)
needles of an appropriate size for chosen yarn (straight or circular)
yarn needle; crochet hook (similar in size to knitting needles)
pattern of student's choice - pattern should be a basic pattern using one yarn (no stripes or other color work), yarn for pattern will be chosen during first class
calculator, notepad, ruler or knitting gauge (all optional).
Students should try to read through their chosen pattern before starting the class.
 
Using Double Pointed Needles/Make a Hat
Time: Two 2-hour classes
Tuition: $40 plus supplies
Class Seating: 4-6 Students
Level: Beginning
Description:  
Daunted by double pointed needles? Knitting in the Round run you ragged? Helpless with hats? Take a class on how to use double pointed needles and learn how to make a seamless hat in just two weeks.
Required Skills:  
Be comfortable with knitting and purling
 
Beginning Sock Knitting
Time: Three two-hour classes
Tuition: $60 plus supplies
Class Seating: 4-8 students
Skill Level: Intermediate
Description:  
If you always wanted to make a pair of socks using any of the wonderful soft sock wool this is the class for you. Students will learn how to make a pair of socks using double point needles. Don't let turning the heels or decreases stop you. Learn the basic anatomy of construction.
Your family will think you did all the color work by using self-patterning yarn. Socks make great gifts, and are a small project that you can work on anywhere when you are waiting.
Required skills:  
Basic Knitting, Cast-On, Cast-0ff, Knit and Purl.
 
Intermediate Sock Knitting
Time: Three two-hour classes

Description:  
Looking for excitement and variety in your socks? Lern the basics of hos to knit toe up socks up in this intermediate sock making class. Explore various methods for ribbing, heels and toes for toe up and cuff down socks.
Required skills:  
Proficient in using double pointed needles and know the basics of casting on, binding off, increasing and decreasing. Some knowledgeof basic sock knitting on double pointed needles, 2 circulars or magic loop method.
 
Entrelac Knitting
Time: Three two-hour classes
Tuition: $60 Plus supplies
Skill Level:: Intermediate
Class Seating: 4-8 students
Description:  
Create interesting checkerboard patterns using the entrelac method. The technique is simple after learning a few tricks and you will amaze your friends with your "woven" knitting.

Lace Knitting
Time: Four two-hour classes
Tuition: $80 plus supplies
Skill Level: Intermediate
Class Seating: 4-6 students
Description:  
Learn the art of knitting lace. Join the instructor in creating a creating a beautiful lace scarf from luxury yarns. Lessons include:
-how lace is constructed
-reading a lace pattern
-preventing and correcting errors

Beginning Crochet
Time: Two 2-hour classes
Tuition: $40 plus supplies
Skill Level: Beginning
Class Seating: 3-6 students
Description:  
Learn to crochet in just two easy classes! This 2-week class offers 4 hours of crochet instructions. Learn to make a foundation chain, single, half, double, triple crochet stitches and crocheting in the round. At the end of this class you will have the skills necessary to start a simple crochet project.
